Big Eddy

First and Main Building, Portland, Oregon

2010   Big Eddy, lacquered marine plywood, dichroic glass, stone, aluminum and stainless steel, 30’x10’x12’

Reflective of its surroundings Big Eddy is an interpretation of the bend in the Willamette River that the office building is sited adjacent to. Marine plywood represents the river and the exaggerated grain has been lacquered to emphasize the swirl patterns as in the surface of water. The diagonals represent bridge positions.
