Chromatic Dispersions

2003   Chromatic Dispersions, dichroic glass, tempered glass, armorcoat, solar tints, aluminum and stainless steel, 111’ x 9’ x 16”.

This glass screen occupies the horizontal top thirty-six feet of three main entrance bays on the south side of Autzen Stadium. A simple graphic pattern describes the over one hundred foot long by nine foot high system of swinging and stationary glass panels. Joining this pattern is a more sculptural and three-dimensional system of dichroic glass elements. In concert these elements cast color projections, reflections and shadow back into the corridor and concessions area. These colors will highlight the fans and brighten the spaces as the sun transits low in the fall.
